Past Events
It has been fun getting out there, meeting people, having fun, and talking about the book! So many supporters and friends have gotten involved. Check out some of the past events, and join in on some upcoming ones as well!
This was the celebration event in downtown Minneapolis that kicked off the celebration after finally getting published... what a blast! So many friends and colleagues supporting, and the evening did not disappoint with addresses from Bob Paulson, Frank Jaskulke, and Brian Mullins.
As a special treat, Art Fry, the inventor of the post-it note made a surprise appearance, so we read the excerpt from the book that featured him. Food, drinks, fun networking, celebration and champagne led the night, along with book signings and a lively discussion on major themes of the book dealing with how the creative parts of our minds work.
A special thanks to Open Book for providing such a great venue, and to Craft & Joy for providing such a fabulous grazing table!
So much fun meeting people, discussing the book, signing copies, and enjoying being a book nerd for a day! Thanks B&N for all your support and carrying copies of my book on your shelves.
If you didn't get a signed copy that day, head back over there and check out the shelves. I signed three copies of the ones that they had on the shelves... see if you can find one!
My first in-person live interview in front of a studio audience... with tacos from Centro in NE Minneapolis. Sponsored by the Waddell group, I was interviewed by Tom Waddell. It was a lively audience with lots of questions. I think the tacos got people active!
The largest medical device conference in the nation. I had the privilege of speaking on Kablooe's behalf about product development process and 3D printing... both subjects in the book. Fun to be a part of this community!
At one of the highest performing engineering prep schools in the nation, Tom is not only a recurring series lecture speaker, but also a contributor to the curriculum used in their Engineering Excellence Department. Tom shared highlights from the book with the students in several classes, and gave away free books as contest prizes to the students.
The sharp students once again did not disappoint, performing at higher than average levels in the creativity quiz that Tom gives. Go TG Eagles!
The Big Apple, one aspiring author, several booksellers, and tons of people interested in innovation... what a whirlwind!
The Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association thought it would be a good idea to have Tom share some ideas from his book related to manufacturing to their members. It was a fun and lively discussion... over zoom! Tom loves meeting in person, but enjoys the benefits of reaching people with live video too.
